The First Annual Glacial Park 5K Snowshoe Race is a Regional Qualifying Event for the National Snowshoe Championship. The race will challenge snowshoe enthusiasts of all ability levels. The challenging race course meanders through various terrain at Glacial Park. Besides the opportunity to come out and try your hand at snowshoeing at a wonderful park...each participant will also receive, water bottle and sponsor swag goodies. Fruit, bagels, Hammer Heed, Hammer Gel, water & warm drinks will be served at the finish area.
Snowshoe Race Fees
$22.00 Individual Registration
$50.00 Family Registration Includes Children under 16 years of age
$35.00 for race day registration 8:00-10:00 a.m. at start venue
The course will be going through Glacial Park on groomed trails.. Racers can expect roots and rocks; short, steep downhill and uphill sections; uphill switchbacks; wide open field sections and technical climbs.Those doing 8 km will do two laps lapping before heading across the finish.
Schedule of Events
Saturday, January 29
8:00-10:00 am: Packet pickup/day of registration.
10:30 am: Pre-race meeting at registration area.
11:30 am: First wave point racers start
11:40 am: Snowshoe Stomp 5K one mass start
1:00 pm: Estimated time of awards ceremony and door prizes at the venue.
Awards will go to the top 3 males and top 3 females overall in the 5K Snow Stomp.
Bring the kiddies for the Kid's 1/2 Mile Moon Boot Stomp (Fun Run) too, takes place at 1:00 PM!
We will be giving away some great door prizes again this year as well as swag from various vendors.

We'll have tons of great food at the race. If you want to try a snowshoe race, you'll want to add this to your calendar. This is a regional qualifier for the United States Snowshoe Association. We hope to attract 200 people this year, so come on out and join us on the beautiful trails at Glacial Park.
From Chicago take Route 90 west. Go north on route 53 to Lake Cook Road. Go west on Lake Cook. Go north on route 12 to Richmond. Turn Left on Route 31 going south for 2 miles to Glacial Park.
From Milwaukee take Route 94 south. Go west on Route 173 to Richmond. Turn left on Route 12 continuing south on Route 31 to Glacial Park.
